Ponniyin Selvan isn’t doing very well in other languages, despite the Tamil version performing remarkably well in the Indian and international markets.

Ponniyin Selvan 1 made over Rs 300 crore in its first week of release, and now its producers have revealed that it has earned over Rs 400 crore by the end of its second week. By surpassing the previous best box office results of Vikram, starring Kamal Haasan, PS1 is poised to become an ALL-TIME GROSSER in Tamil Nadu.

According to experts, it is an unusual occurrence in Kollywood for two legendary blockbusters to come out in the same year, let alone within a four-month period. In 2023, “Ponniyin Selvan Part 2” is certain to surpass the first installment’s sales records. It’s anticipated that “PS2” will take over the box office in the summer of 2019. The sequel will be released six to nine months after the first film, as Mani Ratnam previously confirmed.

It is an adaption of the same-named novel by acclaimed novelist Kalki. The Chola dynasty is the subject of the epic historical novel “Ponniyin Selvan.” The franchise consists of two parts, the first of which premiered on September 30 have received a lot of positive reviews.
